The roofs of underground garages are often surfaces similar to plazas or atriums in residential complexes, serving various purposes such as parks, playgrounds, sports fields, or open parking spaces.

Waterproofing these public areas is very demanding because they are constantly exposed to intensive use and various types of mechanical loads. Additionally, during the construction phase, the plazas of residential-business complexes are used for storing different construction materials, which further increases the risk of waterproofing damage. When selecting a technical solution, it is necessary to consider waterproofing materials with high resistance to abrasion and other mechanical damages.

A major challenge is also locating the actual point of water ingress, as it may not correspond to the position of the leakage inside the underground garage.
